How do Pro, Scholar and Mastery differ?+
Every paid plan gives you a weekly allowance of premium messages — Root's smartest AI — plus standard messages on the fast model, and you choose which to use for each message (so you can save premium for the hard questions). Pro ($18.99) is 125 premium + 375 standard a week with 7 test papers a week. Scholar ($34.99) raises that to 225 premium + 600 standard and 14 test papers — the all-rounder for serious terms and exam season. Mastery ($74.99) is the highest: 600 premium + 800 standard a week, 28 test papers, and 30-file uploads — built for homeschool and all-day study. All paid plans get unlimited study units.
How do the message limits work?+
Free users get 60 messages a week and 2 test papers a week. Paid plans use a weekly premium allowance (the smartest AI) plus standard messages, with a daily cap so one day can't drain your whole week: Pro 125 premium + 375 standard a week (150/day), Scholar 225 + 600 (200/day), Mastery 600 + 800 (300/day). Premium refreshes every Monday and the daily cap resets at midnight UTC. You're never locked out mid-session — once your premium is used up you simply keep going on the standard model.
Can I switch plans later?+
Yes — upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from the billing portal in Settings. Plan changes take effect immediately and are pro-rated.
Is my data safe?+
Your work stays private to your account. You can download all of your data as JSON from Settings at any time, or delete your account completely.
